Welcome to P47 Advocates

Welcome to the P47 Advocates Website.

The P-47 Thunderbolt Advocates are comprised of people from all walks of life. We, as Advocates, are people with the common interest in seeing that the development, performance and history of the "Jug", (the most destructive, single engine fighter aircraft of World War II), is always remembered. This can be a formidable challenge since the Jug was active in all theaters of operation during World War II.

Although we focus on the Jug, P-47 Advocates have different ways of reaching the common goal. Some collect photographs and paintings of the Jug. Some preserve documents, training films and video tapes. Others, who fly or crew the Jug now, want to have as much information as possible about the early development and flight characteristics of the airplane.

We hope you will join what we believe to be one of the most special, international organizations ever established...
